Before each lesson or activity, we review our class agreements. Students are encouraged to contribute new agreements relevant to the task, fostering a shared sense of responsibility and engagement.
During lessons, I manage student behavior by actively moving around the room and engaging with students. I use refocusing callouts to redirect attention and maintain a productive learning environment.
I observe when students appear frustrated or fatigued, or when they express the need for a break. Providing time to rest and regulate helps ensure they are ready for optimal learning.
If a conflict occurs between students, I pull them aside to talk individually to find out what happened.
I invite each student to recount the event and share how it made them feel.
I encourage students to develop problem-solving skills by prompting them to suggest their own solutions before offering my input.
Together, we strive to find solution-oriented compromises that strengthen our sense of community.
